SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
Location: Warsaw
Reporting to: Head of Communications, Global Media & Streaming
12-month FTC (potential to extend), full time role
The comms team in Warsaw deliver ambitious and dynamic publicity plans to build the reputation of BBC Studios and bring the best of British creativity to a wide audience in the region.
As Senior Communications Officer CEE you will be responsible for execution of communications plans that build and enhance the reputation of BBC Studios branded services, products, sales and partnerships in the CEE region. Working with the General Manager for CEE and reporting to Head of Communications for Global Media and Streaming based in London, this role will further the reputation of our business across the region and beyond.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifying and implementing corporate, consumer, B2B and digital reputation enhancing publicity for the CEE region including but not limited to; programme publicity campaigns, press releases, press events, interviews and speaking opportunities
- Direct line management of Communications Executive CEE, responsible for setting and tracking against performance and outcome goals, day to day workload management and support
- Management of local agency on specific campaign/projects
- Drive uplift in audiences for branded services through targeted consumer publicity and digital campaigns in order to achieve set KPIs
- Maintain and grow media contacts in CEE markets
- Build the profile of senior executives and BBC Studios business, identifying opportunities for speaker opportunities and trade and business focused press
- Provide briefings for senior executives outlining the major BBC, BBCS and industry issues and write speeches as necessary
- Responsibility for CEE corporate communications documents, creating and preparing assets where required
- Manage negative press issues in relevant market as appropriate
- Develop collaborative working relationship with the relevant teams across sales, marketing, editorial and commercial in the region
- Build relationships with external stakeholders, incl. clients and affiliate partner communication teams, trade event and associations
- Support Head of Communications, Global Media and Streaming on other international work as required
- Prepare internal PR reports as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Excellent understanding of corporate, consumer & digital comms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication both in Polish and English
- Proven ability to craft brand & corporate messages in a variety of tones and styles according to audience and narrator
- Experience in leading consumer publicity campaigns and strategic planning
- Experience of handling crises and effecting responses at a high-profile organisation
- Experience of working relationships with a wide range of levels including the most senior internal and external contacts
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to maintain credibility
- Ability to prioritise to meet conflicting deadlines, often at short notice and under pressure
Desirable
- Knowledge and/or experience of the media/broadcasting environment an advantage

Salary: Up to zł165,000.00 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights
Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract with a possibility of permanency
Location: Office Base is Warsaw
Working Pattern: Hybrid Working (mix of working from home plus two/three days a week in the office)
