ABOUT THE ROLE
Global Listings, a leading international TV metadata and content services company, is seeking a highly experienced Managing Editor to join our editorial leadership team on a remote freelance contract. This full-time role (5 days/week) offers the opportunity to lead high-profile TV metadata projects and TV Accounts and editorial teams from your home base in Poland.
We’re looking for a bilingual editorial expert with TV metadata industry knowledge, exceptional editorial skills in both Polish and English, and strong commercial awareness. This role blends editorial excellence, team management, and client oversight, with the chance to directly influence both the quality and performance of content delivered to some of the world’s largest broadcasters and platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and oversee a team of up to 12 editors, delivering accurate, SEO-structured metadata to major TV and VOD clients
- Edit and approve Polish and English-language TV metadata, including synopses, EPG listings, and VOD content descriptions
- Ensure metadata aligns with client brand guidelines, editorial tone, and platform-specific requirements
- Work within and understand editorial database structures, ensuring efficient metadata workflows and accuracy at all times
- Translation processes are part of daily workflows – an understanding of localisation and working with translators is beneficial
- Oversee day-to-day TV account management, including internal delivery tracking, status reporting, and maintaining editorial SLAs
- Compile and manage priced Statements of Work (SOWs) – commercial acumen is essential for scoping, quoting, and client support
- Act as final editorial QA checkpoint, ensuring consistency and quality across all deliverables
- Collaborate closely with internal operations, translation, and commercial teams
REQUIREMENTS
– Fluent in Polish and English with excellent editorial and proofreading skills in both languages
– In-depth knowledge of the TV metadata industry (EPG, VOD, editorial content creation, localisation workflows)
– Strong database literacy – confident working within structured editorial systems and metadata environments
– Experience overseeing translation workflows or working with localisation teams
– Demonstrated ability to manage editorial teams, especially in a remote or international environment
– Commercial mindset – confident compiling priced proposals, understanding client scope, and contributing to account performance
– Highly organised, deadline-driven, and meticulous with detail
CONTRACT & HOURS
- Freelance contract (24-month fixed term, subject to a successful 6-month probation)
- Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm UK time (10am–6pm in Poland)
- Work remotely from home, connecting via secure VPN
- Full training provided on Global Listings' bespoke systems and workflows
